Never have I ever seen so many tears of joy on a wedding day.
My beautiful sister-in-law Jennae married the love of her life Jason in April in Mexico and it was such an incredible celebration. Jason, my husband, the best man, Jennae’s dad, and I have to admit, even myself all cried as she walked down the aisle. I don’t think any of us were done until the ceremony ended! She was absolutely beaming from the time she woke up that morning until the time the wedding ended.
When I asked her what her favorite moment was, she had so many that she couldn’t pick—when she saw her dad for the first time, when her and Jason first locked eyes and hands at the end of the aisle, the private moments they had during our photo session on the beach, their first dance. There was so much emotion because everyone knew how right it was. We have been anticipating this day for so long. And for me, this was so much more than just another wedding. I got to show Jennae how beautiful she was, what an outstanding event she planned, and how much I love her through my photos. It was the ultimate expression of my joy for them to be able to document this day.
What added to an already emotional day were the handwritten notes that Jennae and Jason gave to their family members. It was so thoughtful. They wanted to thank everyone for their role in raising them, encouraging them, supporting them, both as individuals and as a couple. But the entire wedding was thoughtful. Each decoration, schedule, and song was an outward expression of who they are and their love for one another.
Jason and Jennae: I could not be happier for you. Or more honored that you trusted me to capture one of the best days of your life. I’m so blessed to call you family and I hope these photos always remind you of how much I love you!
