When I first met with Russell and Erika, I was so happy to hear that they were making photography a priority right from the start. Russell actually proposed during a session with a photographer to ensure they would have the memories captured. In addition to their love of photos, their excitement about getting married was palpable throughout the whole process. Every communication I had with them was focused on their happiness and how to optimize the joy for everyone. That kind of enthusiasm makes me look forward to wedding days so much.
On the day of, Erika was literally jumping with excitement. Right before the ceremony, the skies turned cloudy and it started to sprinkle. She smiled at the rain coming down and said she was grateful for the rain to cool everything off. She wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of her enjoying her wedding. When it was time for her to walk down the aisle, the sun started to peek through again and the rain cleared up.
They didn’t see one another before the wedding so the whole congregation swelled with emotion when Erika walked down the aisle. They were so happy to have waited to see each other and that anticipation was worth it. Though they were both extremely relaxed people, there was a deep passion and love for one another that everyone could feel as they said their vows.
After the ceremony, it was party time! Russell, Erika and their bridal parties were so much fun! They were the perfect amounts of silly and cooperative and made all the group photos a piece of cake. They all carried that energy into the reception where everyone was on the dance floor for hours. We only took a small break to grab some night photos, again in the rain! I couldn’t believe how carefree both Erika and Russell were, but when you’re that in love, a little rain can’t touch your happiness.
This wedding was a true celebration of forever. Their love is an out loud one; one that will inspire others and one that definitely inspired me. Russell and Erika, thank you so, so much for inviting me to be a part of your celebration. It was truly an honor and I wish you all the happiness in the world!
As always epic thanks to my associate photographer Shelli of Shelli Quattlebaum Photography.
