Continuing from my ‘Part 1’ post I am sharing the second educational experience I have had recently as a Colorado wedding photographer. For me one of the aspects of weddings that I have found to be one of my weaknesses is detail images. Details of the wedding day or session usually consist of flowers, rings, cake, dress, etc. Although I photograph these at every event, I don’t always find the images I take stimulating. I strive to make them more captivating. I want to make sure I am capturing all those little details that my couples work so hard to incorporate into their wedding day and make them dazzling in photographs.
In December 2015 I attended the first annual Details + Decor: A Workshop for Photographers! This unique workshop focused solely on photographing the details of a wedding day, how to get better and more dynamic detail shots. Our amazing host Ashley Kidder put together several vignettes for us to photograph and two lovely models. There was a short class on photography techniques and tips and tricks and then the fun began.
This is exactly what I needed to get me inspired and propel the creative juices. I learned some new techniques and also got to network with other exceedingly talented photographers. We all discussed our tips and tricks and found knowledge in each other very helpful as well.
Here are some of my favorite images I captured that day! I learned a lot and really enjoyed photographing along side other fun and spunky ladies.
One last behind the scenes, because I love behind the scenes images!
Please stay tuned for the final part, Part 3, of this post that will showcase images from WPPI 2016 Moroccan Wedding Workshop.
